Behaviour Intervention Plans
An assignment by Vera Goodson, Jamie Drobnick and David Templeton
For this assignment, we had to discuss Behaviour Intervention Plans. During our initial conversation, we established the roles and responsibilities for the task. We then set out to work on our research and presentation. We found many useful sources and used content examples from our daily practice. We were tasked with creating a presentation on BIP. Our group decided to split the workload into categories, research and independently complete our respective segments with a final group dialogue presentation. The format will be an open dialogue with comparative reflections taking place to maximise the learning experience.
The presentation can be viewed with this link.
For the recording, we decided to do it in a dialogue format. The initial thought is it would be a useful learning tool. It definitely was. Our presentation and discussing points took a deep dive into our knowledge and experience. We went into a large amount of depth and ended up with a 2-hour conversation piece.
There is a large amount of information and examples covered, but I recommend starting by reading the presentation.
Assigned Goals
A clear explanation of BIP
A clear example of the steps in BIP a process (preferably several examples for comparison).
How and when can the chosen intervention be used in a school or classroom?
How can it be effective in an inclusive setting?
How are the results from these frameworks used to drive instructional decisions?
A Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting each example BIP or others found during the research process.
Task Divisions
David: Covering goals 1 and 2
Vera: Covering goals 3 and 6
Jamie: Covering goals 4 and 5
For the final presentation, we will be adjusting the question order to fit the flow of dialogue best.
Presenting order:
Goal 1 and 2
Goal 4 and 5
Goal 3 and 6
We have decided to gather after the week’s research to join on a conference call and record our discussion style presentation of all the research obtained throughout this process.
