First Lesson Plan for Clinical Practice
Submission
My first class video will take place during the Chinese winter holiday period, so to accommodate this, I have arranged to have a special online class with grade 1 pupils who I previously taught. I asked the students what they wanted to learn about and built the plan accordingly.
In my discussion with my mentor, we covered all the expectations as we advance, and he provided me with some feedback on my plan. In preparation for the class, he also gave me some thinking points for reflection.
Summary of Discussion:
The lesson plan is comprehensive and well thought out.
The differentiated instruction is well addressed.
Issues with short lesson time can be resolved by segmenting lessons into different areas of daily instruction.
Main Points on Lesson Plan 1:
Lesson objectives are clear, realistic and measurable.
Good use of local cultural context for interest and relevance (Year of the tiger).
Formative and summative assessments are well-designed to measure student progress toward learning objectives.
Appropriate alignment of instruction with 21st-century skills.
Advice for the lesson:
What difficulties do you anticipate for this lesson?
How might you adapt the lesson in progress to address these difficulties?
What potential issues can you foresee with the online format? - a side note to ensure students can use tools effectively.
